Basilica of St. Ulrich & St. Afra - St. Afra was an early 4th century martyr. The small sandstone church in the foreground is a Protestant church and has an elaborate baroque interior. “The peaceful existence of these two churches as good ecumenical next-door neighbors…” read here for more.

Barfüßer (bare footed friars) Protestant Church Barfüßer (bare footed friars) Protestant Church, a late Gothic basilica with a baroque interior -- as is often the case in Southern Germany. The nuns in the photo are temporary sculptures: They were part of an exhibition on women a social workers.
