The Perlach Tower, a local landmark, built in 1182 and altered in the 18th century. The base of the tower is from 11th & 12th century, and the belfry and cupola are the work of Elias Holl from 1614. The Augustus Fountain was erected in 1594 by the city to commemorate the 1600th anniversary of the establishment of the city by the emperor Augustus. Pine cones have been an ancient symbol of regeneration. The Pyr is the Augsburg Coat of Arms
Damenhof in the Fugger Mansions In this building Luther refused to renounce his theses in October 1518.
